First incorporated in England in 1888, the UK Defence Club (“UKDC”) has a remarkable history in assisting Members to resolve their disputes in the most appropriate and cost effective way.
Over the years we have supported our Members in a great many cases, some of which have been heard before the House of Lords and, more recently, the Supreme Court. We are committed to supporting our Members notwithstanding the high cost of litigation, and our strong financial position allows us to do so. From decisions relevant to only a small segment of the industry, to those that developed new legal principles, we have helped shape the legal landscape of shipping.
The UKDC has been involved in a large number of landmark cases over the past 130 years.
